So I know I haven't updated in yoinks. Quite a bit has happened-- freelanced for a bit, had a bunch of money nightmares here and there, and finally landed a job as a writer (surprise surprise) in a local games development company. (Don't get so excited, the life of a games writer not really as glamorous as it sounds.)

As apparent from my New Years' greeting image, I've also gotten addicted to Angry Birds (&^!%&!%#$!^%!!! #angrybirdsisthedevil) and BBC's Merlin series. OMG, how cute is Colin Morgan, I ask you? Cuter than both my dogs put in a blender together with a litter of month-old kittens, I'll tell you that.

You might have noticed, however, that my LJ has now gone friends-only-- all my posts are now f-locked, something I used to reject in the past because I am a terrible vainpot and love getting the Google hits.

But there is a reason for this!

Over the past couple of months, I've decided to move the bulk of my serious-serious blogging to Wordpress, where I've started up a couple of blogs. Said blogs are where I'll focus the bulk of my online writing, geekery and insanity. Here:

My main blog, and a chronicle of the local geek life. I post art, reviews, con reports, articles about my life & my ukelele-playing... bascially everything I used to post to this LJ, except with a less fannish angle and a more an RL-ish, Singaporean, This Is The Life Of Geek! take on things. In recent entries, for example, I have posted a review of Tron: Legacy, photos of my cosplaying exploits at the local comics convention (I went as Quorra), videos from my ukelele open-mic night (we rickrolled the audience), and a report of a party I went to... for an Internet cat celebrity. All the weird and wacky stuff. (Don't ask about the blog title. I'm not even sure I can explain it myself. It's magical dim sum!)

This is my FICTION blog. I post (mostly) short bits of web fiction I want to share with the world. One of my resolutions for 2011 is to write and post more fiction, so hopefully this blog will be seeing a lot of regular action.


I haven't been pushing these blog as much as I'd like to, so they haven't been getting the pageviews. If you liked what I used to post here on this LJ--the madness, or the writing, or simply the general sense of WTF, June??-- I'd recommend subscribing/adding either blog to your RSS feed, as that's where I'll be chucking the good stuff. (Really! I promise!)

What happens to this LJ, you ask? Well, it's not going anywhere, that's for certain. The reason I friends-locked it was so that I can post the more personal stuff that I don't want floating freehold around them world-wide-webs when I am eighty and wise and likely to be embarrassed by this sort of thing. So expect a lot of intense self-indulgent navel-gazing here. Or random bouts of squee that are embarrassing and/or bordering-on-the-mildly-creepy. Actually, knowing me, it'll probably end up being all random bouts of squee that are embarrassing and/or bordering-on-the-mildly-creepy.

P.S.If it isn't already clear, I still can't watercolor paint to save my life. Have absolutely no idea why I thought it would be a good idea in the first place.
